Information We Collect

Buuq collects account details such as email address, username, display name, profile photo, banner image, bio, optional city or region text, interests, language preference, theme preference, notification settings, privacy settings, and subscription entitlement status when you use Buuq Pro. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not stored by Buuq in plain text. Buuq also processes user-generated content including posts, comments, voice notes, videos, images, GIF selections, polls, group messages, direct messages, likes, follows, reports, blocks, mutes, and safety actions.

How We Use Information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, publish posts and comments, play voice notes and videos, show profiles and feeds, deliver search and discovery, provide direct and group messaging, manage private follower requests, unlock paid subscription features, send notifications when enabled, apply safety controls, respond to support requests, and maintain the reliability of the service.

Audio, Photos, Location, and Device Permissions

The app asks for microphone access when you record voice posts, voice comments, or voice introductions. Camera and photo library access are used when you choose images for posts, comments, messages, groups, or profile media. Location permission is requested only if you choose to detect your city during signup or profile editing; Buuq stores the resulting city or region text, not continuous precise location tracking. Push notification permission is requested only when you enable notifications.

Local Device Storage

Buuq stores limited information on your device, such as your signed-in session, cached profile details, onboarding state, and saved account shortcuts. This helps the app open faster and keeps you signed in until you log out or clear app data.

Storage and Service Providers

Buuq uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, realtime app data, Edge Functions, and media access controls. Voice media may be stored with Cloudflare R2. Push notifications are delivered through Expo's push notification service. GIF search and GIF media are provided by GIPHY when you use the GIF feature. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process subscription purchase and entitlement information when you use Buuq Pro. Apple and Google may process sign-in information if you choose those providers. These services process data to operate Buuq. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Buuq Pro purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. Buuq does not receive or store full payment card details. To unlock and maintain paid features, Buuq may store subscription tier, subscription status, product identifier, entitlement identifier, renewal or expiration date, purchase provider, and subscription management URL.

Safety, Moderation, and Abuse Prevention

Buuq uses content limits, media ownership checks, link checks, rate limits, authentication abuse controls, reports, blocking, mutes, moderation records, and security logs to reduce spam, scams, abuse, unsafe links, impersonation, credential stuffing, automated account creation, denial-of-service attempts, and other harmful behavior. Reported content and accounts may be reviewed and removed or restricted when they violate community standards or app rules.

Your Controls

You can edit your profile, change privacy settings, hide or clear public location text, turn notifications on or off, manage private follow requests, block accounts, report content or accounts, and delete your account from Settings. Some content remains visible to others when you publish it publicly unless you delete it or Buuq removes it under the rules.

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion inside the app from Settings, Privacy & Safety, Delete account. Deletion removes the account and account-owned app data such as profile, posts, comments, messages, follows, push tokens, and related records where deletion is technically and legally permitted. Limited records may remain when needed for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, backups, or service integrity.

Children

Buuq is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support so we can review and remove the account where appropriate.
